Antigone Extra Credit

We are offering extra credit to students who attend the Cy Woods Theater Company's production of Antigone. Shows are November 3-6. If you have a concern about purchasing a ticket, please have a private conversation with Ms. Gillihan or Mr. Kent.

To earn the five bonus points on a major grade, you MUST:

1. Attend the production. Your ticket stub/receipt will be attached to your essay as proof of your attendance. If you are a member of the cast/crew, a playbill will be sufficient to prove your attendance. IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR TICKET STUB/RECEIPT, YOUR ASSIGNMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE EXTRA CREDIT. 
2. Write a one-page MINIMUM (front only), HANDWRITTEN essay that addresses the following:
• A brief summary of the story of Antigone
• How the theater company's adaptation shows Greek values that we discussed in class (provide specific examples from both the play and our class discussions/reading notes)
• How the theater company's adaption does NOT stay true to Greek values/historY (you can discuss historical inaccuracies, different time periods addressed by the play, and any contradictions you see with specific facts that we learned in class)
• Why you think the theater company chose to set the play in a different era than Classical Greece

**Essays less than ONE FULL PAGE will not be considered for the extra credit. The final essay and your ticket stub will be due Friday, November 10th. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!
